Towards MIR VCSELs operating CW at room temperature

Abstract : We present a new design of a Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) emitting in the Mid Infrared (MIR) spectral range. This new design relies on three key elements: An Interband Cascade (IC) active region, a hybrid structure with a dielectric and a semiconductor Bragg mirror and an arsenide layer for the optical and electric confinement.
